The IES are proud to present the launch of Susan Owens' much-anticipated book: Knowledge, Policy, and Expertise: The UK Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution 1970-2011.
This book presents a fascinating analysis of expertise and policy formation, based on an in-depth study of the UK Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution. It addresses key contemporary questions about knowledge and expertise in the policy processes of modern democracies.
This is the only full account of the UK Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution combining insights from several major disciplinary traditions. It provides an in-depth analysis of the practices and influence of a significant, long-standing advisory body.
The event will take place on the evening of Tuesday the 12th January where Susan shall introduce the book and IES president Sir John Lawton shall interview Susan and lead a Q&A session.
Attendees will then have the opportunity to purchase the book at the drinks reception and book signing held after talks.
