Belinda Phipps has been appointed new CEO at the Science Council, starting in September.
Belinda joins the organisation from the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), which she led for 15 years, raising their profile through public engagement and increasing income to over £17 million a year.
Prof Sir Tom Blundell, President of the Science Council says of the appointment “I and the Board are confident that Belinda is the right person to be leading the Science Council at this time and look forward to working with her for the benefit of the organisation and the wider science community.”
Belinda succeeds Diana Garnham, who has led the Science Council since 2005.
