The IES is delighted to announce that Bernard Devereux has been appointed as Vice Chair of the IES Council.
Bernard is a Life Fellow at Hughes Hall in the University of Cambridge, and an environmental scientist with over 30 years’ experience of teaching and research. He has published widely and contributed to a number of radio and television programmes in the UK and Europe. He has forged strong links with industry, acting as consultant on major projects to a variety of organisations including DP World, Harwich Haven Port Authority, the Forestry Commission, the Environment Agency, the European Union, and national and local governments.
IES Chair, Julie Hill said "I am truly delighted with this outcome. Bernard is not only exceedingly eminent in his field, but has governance experience that will be immensely valuable to the IES as we move into new strategy development and become an ever larger and more influential organisation.".
Benard will begin this role in September 2023 when the existing Vice Chair, Eleni Antoniades steps down.
