Every few years we survey our members to identify trends in how different services are valued, and to gather members’ opinions on potential future developments. This report presents the findings of our 2024 membership survey.
The survey showed that many of our membership services remain highly valued by members. Our journal, environmental SCIENTIST was rated as 'excellent' or 'good' by 91% of members who read it, with over 84% of members giving the same responses for our webinars. These services were described as ‘very important’ or ‘important' by 78% and 93% of respondees respectively. The opportunity to achieve chartership also continued to be highly regarded.
The ability of IES staff to answer member queries was rated 'excellent' or 'good' by 97% of those who interacted with the team in 2023.
A number of years ago we introduced the Net Promoter Score (NPS) to our membership survey. NPS is an index that measures how many people would recommend the IES to a friend or colleague. We have continued to score highly in this index, with our already impressive score increasing to 53 from 46 in 2021.
