We are seeking a graduate consultant with an interest in air quality to join a growing team in the north of England.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Delivering specialist input to support air quality assessments and consenting for a wide range of projects. This will include desk based assessment, data analysis and dispersion modelling and site based survey and monitoring studies;
- Writing and checking reports;
- Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues, clients and environmental regulators; and
- Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve problems related to assessments and project delivery.
Key Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to prioritise workload;
- Understanding of global, national and regional air quality issues;
- Understanding of the role of UK planning and permitting processes in the regulation of air quality;
- Ability to work individually within a busy team; and
- Valid driving license and access to own transport.
Qualifications and Experience
No experience in air dispersion modelling and monitoring is required as this is a graduate role and training will be provided. The following are however essential:
- A BSc science degree in a relevant discipline as a minimum or equivalent level qualification;
- Excellent report writing skills; and
- Excellent IT skills.
Desirable
- A relevant MSc would be preferable or equivalent level qualification.
- Previous related work experience with an environmental consultancy, an environmental regulator, or relevant industry sector company; and
- Graduate membership of a relevant professional body.
