James Clayton Prestige Lecture: Understanding, measuring and sustaining a resilient water system

Wednesday, 4 September 2024 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Hybrid Lecture, One Birdcage Walk London and Online

The 2024 James Clayton Prestige Lecture, presented by Dr. Ana Mijic of Imperial College London, FWR Committee Member, will explore the complex interrelation of nature, infrastructure, and man-made developments, focussing on the creation of metrics to quantify and compare the health and resilience of different water systems. From this, insights into the role of engineers in responding to climate change and maintaining our water resources emerge, feeding into the overall roadmap for sustainability.

The lecture will be followed by a reception in the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ historic library – giving attendees the chance to relax and network in auspicious surroundings.

The event will be taking place on 4th September at IMechE Headquarters, One Birdcage Walk. Alternatively, those unable to attend in person are invited to stream the lecture live online. The event will be recorded and available to watch on demand at a later date.
