EPIC Autumn Conference

Thursday, 10 October 2024 - 10:00am to 4:00pm
Online

We are delighted to announce the IES Environmental Policy Implementation Community’s inaugural Autumn Conference. The Conference will bring together local government environmental professionals and others to explore the environmental delivery challenges of the next five years.

Policy implementation is critical but often ignored or not properly supported, especially within the environmental sector. Throughout the day you’ll hear from senior industry and government figures - including Ruth Calderwood, Chair of EPIC - on what needs to be done to change this, including how EPIC can provide evidence-informed implementation support to local government and others delivering environmental schemes on the ground.

The conference will see the announcement of the new EPIC strategy and membership offer, as well as:

  • The launch of EPIC’s Guidance for Local Authorities on Integrating Action on Air Quality and Climate Change
  • Implementation Science Workshop, exploring how to provide evidence-informed, implementation support to environmental professionals
  • Workshop discussing the results of EPIC’s mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain in practice project
  • A range of options for expert presentations on environment delivery challenges
  • Talks on the future of local government and more

There will be an hour break for lunch, as well as short breaks between sessions throughout the day. A full agenda with more details on speakers and sessions will be released shortly.

This free online event is open to all, but is particularly relevant to environmental professionals working in local government, consultancy and other delivery organisations, as well as those working in environmental policy.
