Catherine Ross elected as Science Council President

Professor Catherine Ross has been elected as the next President of the Science Council, effective immediately.

Catherine has been a member of the Science Council Board of Trustees since 2020 and has been its Vice Chair since June 2021. She has also chaired the Science Council’s Policy Advisory Committee (PAC) for the past three years. Catherine will step down from the Science Council Board and the PAC with immediate effect. Catherine was the keynote speaker at the recent IES Conference, Dialogue Between Disciplines

Catherine is both a Chartered Scientist and a Chartered Biologist. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, the Academy of Healthcare Science, the National Institute for Prevention and Cardiovascular Health in Ireland, and the European Society of Cardiology. She holds a number of senior leadership positions nationally and internationally and has served as the President of the Professional Body for Cardiac Scientists.

She will make a fantastic ambassador for the Science Council.”
