At the IES, we know that the secret to a successful professional body is the quality of the people behind the membership services. Our small, inclusive team work collaboratively with one another, as well as our fantastic trustees, members and partner organisations, to fulfil our mission of advocating for science and the environment.
We’re therefore excited to announce that our team has recently expanded, with the recruitment of a Publications Officer and Marketing Intern. Find out more about the two new members of the team by viewing their profiles:
We've also recently closed applications for a Communities & Membership Engagement Officer. Once we have made an appointment, this role will be supporting the launch of new Communities and engaging environmental scientists with our wealth of content and membership services.

At the end of September we will also be saying goodbye to Danielle Kopecky, who has overseen our publications since 2020 and is moving to a role at the Royal Geographical Society. Danielle has edited 10 editions of the environmental SCIENTIST journal, 13 reports and our e-newsletter. We will be sad to see her go but wish her all the best in her future career.
This means we are currently advertising for a Publications Lead to manage the production and distribution of key publications and other outputs for the IES and its sister organisations. Recruitment for the role will close on Monday 19th September. Please circulate the job advert widely among your networks.
