Nicola is a Chartered Environmentalist with over 13 years’ experience in leading the delivery and providing technical review and assurance of Environmental Impact Assessments, working across a wide range of UK and international legislative frameworks.
Nicola started her career at a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, focussed on delivering EIAs and sustainability appraisals for a broad range of clients including Network Rail and West Yorkshire Transport Authority. In 2014, she moved to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (part of the Ministry of Defence) providing technical assurance and advice relating to EIAs and EIA policy for high-profile and impact Defence projects. Her current position gives the opportunity to challenge, influence and empower people and partner organisations to create sustainable solutions across the Defence estate. Working for a leading Government department, she is passionate about participation and accessibility in the EIA process, whilst delivering the highest quality, proportionate impact assessments. Since 2020, Nicola has been a member of the IEMA’s Impact Assessment Steering Group.
She was elected to the IES Council in 2022.
