At a time of great uncertainty, we recognise the impacts these unprecedented times are having on our members and the wider sector.
Some membership services have taken on a new look to ensure we can continue to provide support and help our members navigate these coming weeks and months. We are designing some new CPD opportunities that can be accessed online and will be readily available to all.
We are on hand to support you
The IES team are working remotely but our emails and phone lines remain open as usual. The phones are diverted to a member of the team who is available from 09:00-17:30 Monday to Friday.
Get involved in new CPD
We are increasing our online CPD offering to provide you with more opportunities that comply with social distancing - including our webinars, journal, website content, videos and more. All of these can contribute to your CPD hours.
We are expanding our ‘CPD over Sandwiches’ webinar series. This series will continue to provide frequent, free online CPD opportunities to all members, and will expand over the coming weeks to bring you more webinars on a wider range of topics. All you need is a device and an internet connection; sign up to a forthcoming webinar to receive the log-in details. Missed a webinar? They are all available on our YouTube channel.
Our CEnv in a Day workshops have moved online. We plan to organise more workshops to provide our Full members with the opportunity to become Chartered over the coming weeks, and will be bringing extra support structures for those who have already started the process.
Become a STEM Ambassador and inspire the next generation to pursue a career in the sector. STEM Learning has support hubs nationwide delivering a range of activities with the support of its Ambassadors. We have teamed up with STEM Learning to deliver a training workshop in May specifically for IES members who are interested in becoming STEM Ambassadors.
If you have children at home and are delivering home schooling on environmental science this can be recorded as CPD, so make sure you record these hours on the new CPD tool.
The months ahead
We are navigating through unprecedented times which will have significant impacts on the sector. We are committed to supporting our members and will continue to build services and develop more free and low-cost resources to support you and your work, both now and post-pandemic.
We want to hear from you. If you need advice or want to share something with other members get in touch.
