We are delighted to announce, Sir David King, Partner of SYSTEMIQ and Senior Strategy Adviser to the President of Rwanda, has been awarded an IES Honorary Fellow. Sir David has previously held positions as the UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser (2000-2007), the Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative on Climate Change (2013-2017), and Chair of Future Cities Catapult (2012-2016).
In 2017, Sir David King delivered the keynote address at the IAQM annual two-day conference, Routes to Clean Air, where he presented on Air Pollution from NOx: Origin, health impacts and regulatory requirements.
IES Honorary Fellows are an exclusive group of environmental professionals recognised by their peers for their exceptional contribution to the sector. Any member of the Institution can propose candidates for Honorary Fellowship by submitting a written proposal for consideration by the Fellowship Committee. Written proposals should set out briefly the specific contributions the individual has made to:
- The development of environmental sciences
- Progress towards sustainable development
- The objectives of the Institution of Environmental Sciences
- National and/or international well-being and cultural life
