Each year, we survey our members to identify trends in how different services are valued and to gather members’ opinions on potential future developments. Here we are pleased to present the findings of our 2017 membership survey.
Members highly value our Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) designation, with 91% of respondents rating it as 'very important' or 'important', underlining the critical importance for environmental science career progression to undertake a Chartership. To help more of our members achieve this designation we are increasing the number of our unique CEnv in a Day workshops.
Our reports and guidance documents are 'very important' or 'important' to 91% of respondents, and the IES environmental SCIENTIST journal is still popular (as in previous years), with 89% of respondents finding them 'excellent' or 'good'. 93% of respondents rated our the IES office's ability to answer their query as 'excellent' or 'good', reflecting our commitment to excellent customer service.
Last year we introduced the Net Promoter Score to our membership survey, which is a measure of how many people would recommend the IES to a friend or colleague. 2016's impressive score of 21 put us ahead of companies like Innocent and Waitrose, and we are pleased to have surpassed that this year with a score of 33.
