NERC are looking for new members to join its Training Advisory Group

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) is a UK-based funding body supporting independent research, training and innovation in environmental science. Working closely with policymakers, government and industry, NERC are pioneers for research across the UK, investing £330 million each year over a broad range of environmental topics including natural hazard mitigation, sustainable resource management, and understanding of environmental change. Their research incorporates physical, chemical and biological sciences to explore all aspects of the Earth system.

NERC are currently seeking new individuals to join its Training Advisory Group (TAG). The core focus of this group is to advise the NERC Executive on strategic decisions, such as evaluating the success of training investments, bridging the gap in skills shortages, driving up quality of training delivery, and recommending appropriate allocation of training funds.

TAG members encompass both academic and end-user communities. Members are required to confidently reflect the perspective and views of their communities whilst consistently and impartially promoting the successful pursuit of NERC’s mission.

For further details on membership and to nominate yourself or another individual, please visit the NERC website. If you have any additional questions, please contact the TAG Secretariat Officer Andy Lloyd at andllo@nerc.ac.uk

The closing date for nominations of the NERC Training Advisory Group is 7th April 2016.
