The youth voice is crucial in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation, and here at the IES we want to provide you, our student members, with a platform to talk about action you are taking, both at a local and global scale. These blogs aim to provide a platform for you to amplify your voice, inspire action, and promote collaboration and ideas.
We are launching our Student Blog series as part of our activities during COP27 (6th- 18th November) as we want to celebrate your “Stories of Action", from climate action and nature-based initiatives, to promoting sustainability and raising awareness. You don’t need to have been directly involved in this action, you may have been inspired by the action and want to share the story with others.
Blogs should be approximately 500 words long and submitted by Thursday 3rd November 2022. A judging panel of IES staff will select the featured blog, which we will be promoted on our website and social media on COP27 Youth and Future Generations Day (10th November 2022). Other highly commended blogs will be considered for publication throughout 2023. This is a unique opportunity to engage the wider environmental science community, the blog will be promoted to over 2,000 environmental professionals, and will enable you to practice your written communication skills.
Please read the Student Blog Guidance before submitting.
Submission deadline Thursday 3rd November 2022. Please send to Rebecca Finbow at education@the-ies.org.
