In 2014 the Science Council, in partnership with it's member organisations, compiled a list of 100 leading practising scientists in the UK. From explorer scientists to entrepreneurs, from teachers to policy makers, these people represented some of the best professional scientists working in the UK today. They are now refreshing this list, to celebrate new talent and affirm those still leading the professional practice of science in our country.
Are you, or do you know any members that deserve recognition as a leading scientist in their field? What kind of scientist are they? Guided by our '10 Types of Scientist' and competencies for our professional registers, the 2016 list will identify and commend the leading role that current practising scientists make to their profession, the economy and wider society.
