Green is the theme
Are you a keen photographer? Fancy yourself as the next Ansel Adams? You could have your photos published in the environmental SCIENTIST.
This summer, we are excited to launch the IES Photography Competition and our first theme is Green. It is up to you how you interpret the theme, whether it is green pastures or green technology, green initiatives within your community or a green tree frog, we want to see it.
The winner will be contacted on 5th August and announced on 19th August on the IES Twitter account.
Prize
The winner will be awarded one of the following prizes, dependent on their current or estimated membership grade, as defined by IES membership criteria:
- Fellow, Member, Associate grade – 50% reduction in their membership fee for next year;
- Student grade – The first year’s professional membership free upon graduation; and
- Affiliate grade – Free membership for one year, starting on the day of the awarding of the prize.
We will also be selecting a number of the best entries to be printed and exhibited in our new office to provide mental stimuli for Chartership candidates during their interviews.

The competition is open to all IES members and to non-members, we will stop accepting entries at 23:59:59 on the 31st of July 2019. All entries must be at least 300 dpi and there is a maximum of 5 entries per person.
