The Science Council, partnering with it's licensed bodies, has launched it's latest blog series: Connected for COP. This series underlines the importance of interdisciplinary and collaborative working across sectors for effective climate action.
The series showcases stories from a variety of disciplines to highlight the outstanding contribution of scientists and science technicians working on the latest research in the run-up to COP26. Our very own Policy Lead Joseph Lewis addresses key COP26 FAQ's and IES member Adam Williams, Climate Change Specialist, outlines how councils in Devon have implemented a Climate Change and Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan to support local communities in becoming greener.
The importance of collaboration between sectors for catalysing the transformative change needed to meet climate ambitions has been a key takeaway from our work so far in the STAGES on the road to COP26. We are therefore pleased to support this latest Science Council campaign alongside the Royal Meteorological Society, Geological Society, Institution of Chemical Engineers, Society for the Environment, Institute of Science and Technology and Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine.
Confused by cryptic COP language?
We have been working with the Science Council and it's licensed members to build a jargon-buster surrounding the language used in relation to COP26, bringing together the key terms used across different scientific disciplines to help support shared understanding.
