Complete our Biodiversity Net Gain survey

The IES and the Association of Local Government Ecologists (ALGE) are inviting environmental professionals to share their experiences of mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain in practice. This may be relevant to members in England working in fields including planning, impact assessment, ecology and conservation, landscape and the built environment, and members are also encouraged to share this survey with colleagues or associates involved in or supporting BNG delivery.

Complete the survey

The survey is now closed, please do not try and complete (closed on 9am on 26th August.)

The information gathered in this survey will be used to produce an analysis piece for the IES Environmental Scientist Journal, and a joint IES/ALGE workshop discussing the results will be held in October. A final output analysing the results and any resulting recommendations will be produced later this year.

The survey is part of the wider IES/ALGE Mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain in Practice project. Within the IES, this project is being led by the Environmental Policy Implementation Community (EPIC) and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Community.

If you have any queries regarding the survey or the wider BNG project, please contact EPIC's Policy Officer Ellie Savage at ellie@the-ies.org
