The Air Quality Team at Bureau Veritas provides our customers with consultancy support relating to all aspects of air quality management. Our team, spread throughout the UK, manage projects ranging from national monitoring networks, to dispersion modelling assessments for individual planning applications; we also cover odour and dust management.

Through our links with Defra and the Environment Agency our Consultants have the chance to help develop and influence air quality tools and guidance used throughout the UK, as well as provide support for national monitoring networks. Our project portfolio is both prestigious and varied, enabling our team to enjoy interesting work that resonates with topical issues.

What the role involves 

As a Principal Consultant you will be expected to lead and manage some of the larger projects within the team. This would include task management of junior team members and financial management of the overall project. With regards to technical work, your focus would be on the more technically challenging parts of assessments, whilst guiding junior staff thorough the more formulaic parts. This would represent best use of your knowledge and experience garnered from your years in the industry.

You will also have the responsibility to identify, lead and contribute to commercial opportunities and the future growth strategy of the team.

What we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone well established in the air quality consultancy industry with a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience. Specialists in both monitoring or modelling would be considered, as long as you are happy joining the dots between the two.

We would expect and in depth understanding of air quality assessment within the UK, as well as the legislations and guidance that inform it. A thorough understanding of the technicalities of air quality dispersion modelling would be expected (including the use of ADMS, ADMS-Roads and AERMOD).

Our nationally recognised team of experts includes Chartered Scientists and Environmentalists, as well as members of Defra’s Air Quality Expert Group (AQEG).
