Role Purpose
The team’s main role is to lead in the air quality and noise monitoring and modelling and provide impact assessment advice to EPR Permitting decision making &; compliance check and Development Planning consultation across all directorates
and regulatory activities with aerial emissions, to improve air quality in Wales.
The post holder will
- Lead the provision of the advice and guidance on all aspects of an Air Quality and noise modelling service for Wales.
- Lead on the complex and HPI permitting/compliance cases and development planning consultation cases in relation to the impact assessment of aerial emissions on health and ecosystem.
- Be able to shadow EA on the nuclear air emissions assessment and carry out modelling assessment for non-nuclear radiological emissions.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Regulatory or industrial experience on regulatory air quality modelling. A degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering, numerate or science subject with high numeracy is essential.
2. The post holder will require substantial knowledge and previous experience in all aspects of air quality, noise and radiological modelling.
3. Complex terrain micrometeorology knowledge and Computer language programming skill are desirable.
4. As an expert you will need to be an excellent communicator, be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and be a strong team worker.
