What you’ll be doing
BWB Consulting has a number of exciting opportunities for Consultant to Associate level Air Quality Consultants to join our expanding teams in our five office locations across England.

These roles represents exciting opportunities for the right candidates to work with our growing and developing team. The successful candidates will be highly motivated, with a desire to develop their professional career and make a difference at BWB. 

Sitting within our Air Quality team, the successful applicants would be expected to undertake specialist technical work such as air and odour dispersion modelling, air quality, odour and dust monitoring and report writing, all whilst working as part of a growing, integrated, progressive
team.

Our work is fast faced, varied and widespread, supporting our clients on projects both locally and throughout the UK as required. We work on a variety of fantastic projects and the successful candidates would have the opportunity to work on these from proposal stage right through to project  completion.  Our projects vary in size from small scale through to national infrastructure projects. There is also the opportunity to undertake project management, manage project finances, and undertake mentoring and training with more junior team members. At Senior consultant levels and above, the successful applicants will also be expected to undertake business development activities and provide a significant contribution to the direction and growth of our team.

working relationships both internally and external to BWB.

What you’ll bring:
The successful candidate will be highly organised, adaptable and self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about local air quality, confident and willing to take the initiative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

The successful candidate will have a relevant science-based air quality or environmental sciences degree.  A relevant masters degree is also highly desirable.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following experience within an air quality consultancy setting:

  • Consultant level - at least two years’ experience;
  • Senior level – at least four years’ experience; and
  • Principal/Associate level – at least six years’ experience.

Candidates will be required to show a working knowledge of air dispersion modelling, using ADMS-Roads and ADMS 5 dispersion models as well as QGIS software. In addition an excellent understanding of the air quality assessment process, as well as the standards and guidance that are  appropriate to our industry, the UK planning and Environmental Permitting process, and Environmental Impact Assessment are required.

For Senior, Principal and Associate roles, experience of staff mentoring and management, business development, client relationship management, project and financial management are highly desirable. Experience of greenhouse gas emissions assessments and indoor air quality assessments are also desirable.

Willingness to travel, a full driving licence and access to a car are essential to all roles.
