The Society for the Environment (SocEnv) is the UK body incorporated by Royal Charter (2004) which accredits professionals in the environment with the qualification "Chartered Environmentalist" (CEnv). It currently has over 7,000 environmental professionals on the register (from the UK and another 20+ countries around the world), and 23 UK professional bodies which are licensed by SocEnv to award the Society's designations. SocEnv audits processes and standards in the award of the designations.
