UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources Event - Truth, hope and environmental protection with Julie Hill MBE

Thursday, 28 November 2024 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Roberts Building, UCL, London, WC1E 7JE

How do we tell truth to power about the environment, while generating motivation to act? Join us for an evening event with Julie Hill MBE, President of the Institution of Environmental Sciences and non-exec Board Member of England and Northern Ireland’s Office for Environmental Protection.

Julie will explain the role of the Office for Environmental Protection, particularly the role of the OEP in monitoring the governments of England and Northern Ireland’s progress against their own environmental targets and plans, and discuss how the analysis and presentation of states, trends and prospects can have maximum influence, including in the context of international dialogues such as COP29. Julie will be joined by two discussants: Professor Paul Ekins and Freya Roberts.
