NERC, in collaboration with the University of Leeds, will host a townhall event to engage with our communities at scale, share our strategic plans and hear views on the critical challenges and innovative solutions shaping environmental science in the coming decades.

The day will be split in two. A morning hybrid session will outline NERC's developing Forward Look and an interactive panel discussion will explore trends and challenges that will affect how we commission and deliver research and innovation to 2050. In the afternoon, there will be an opportunity to join up to two breakout sessions to share your views on the future of:

• UK environmental science in a global context
• revolutionising marine science in a carbon-constrained world
• digital transformation of environmental science
• diversity and inclusion in the NERC research and innovation community
