Join us for the Environmental Policy Implementation Community’s inaugural Autumn Conference on the 10th October. The Conference will bring together local government environmental professionals and others to explore the environmental delivery challenges of the next five years.
This free online event is open to all. It is aimed at environmental professionals working in local government, consultancy and other delivery organisations, as well as those working in environmental policy development.
Policy implementation is critical but often ignored or not properly supported, especially within the environmental sector. Throughout the day you’ll hear from senior figures in local government, arms-length bodies and academia on what needs to be done to change this.
The agenda includes:
- Announcement of the new EPIC membership offer
- Delivering nature recovery - challenges and opportunities: Keynote speech from Oliver Harmar, Chief Operating Officer, Natural England
- Launch of Guidance for Local Authorities on Integrating Action on Air Quality and Climate Change: Sarah Legge, Associate Director, ARUP
- Implementation Science Workshop: hear from implementation science experts and explore how EPIC can provide evidence-informed, implementation support to environmental professionals
- Mandatory biodiversity net gain in practice: Workshop discussing the findings of EPIC’s joint project with Association of Local Government Ecologists and the Environmental Impact Assessment Community
- Public health burden from noise on local authorities: Talk from Professor Anna Hansell, Director of the Center for Environmental Health and Sustainability at the University of Leicester
There will be an hour break for lunch, as well as short breaks between sessions throughout the day. View the full agenda here.
