Joseph joined the IES in 2020 and is responsible for delivering policy for the IES and working to promote the use of the environmental sciences in decision making. He has an MSc in Public Policy from the University in Bristol, where he specialised in environmental policy, as well as a Law Degree from Durham University. Joseph has a particular interest in environmental science communication and ensuring that policy reflects the voices of science, scientists, and the natural world.
Joseph is a member of the IES's Senior Management Team, a co-author of its Manifesto for Transformative Change and Vision for the Future of Environmental Science, and was one of the project leads on the IES Future of ES23 horizon scanning & foresight project.
