IAQM ECN: Digital tools to support air quality professionals

Tuesday, 15 June 2021 - 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Online

The IAQM Early Careers Network (ECN) provides a forum for Early Career Professionals to learn, practice skills and network in a friendly, supportive and accessible environment. Join us for our meet-up on 15th June where we will be discussing the future of Digital Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the emerging use of analytical data software tools across the sector. Can such tools enable better decision making?

EIA is sometimes criticised as being time-consuming and focused on process rather than outcomes. As such, the outcomes can sometimes be lost in the process. As the economy moves towards digitisation and innovations around online interactive multidisciplinary work, digitisation in EIA, including automated data capture and interrogation, integrated GIS and the use of interactive technologies, is just one of the tools we can use to speed-up the process. These tools can also add robustness to air quality assessments, streamline reporting, as well as facilitate productive conversations with clients and project stakeholders.

Join the line-up and practice your presentation skills

We are delighted to open up two spaces for IAQM early career members to present to the rest of the group. Have you been involved in an innovative project recently? Do you have experience of applying scripting and coding languages in your role? Do you offer alternatives to standard reports, such as interactive web-based non-technical summary reports? Volunteer for a presentation slot to present your ideas!

If you would be interested in a ten-minute presentation slot, please get in touch.
